Winter Whimsy

Outfit- Top, socks (Ross), Shorts (UO), Shoes (Free People), Bracelet (F21), Necklace (Lucky Brand)

My niece impersonating me :)
This outfit is probably the reason I'm sick... I swear I was made for warm weather, but I'm learning.  These pics were taken in Aunt Lou's Garden.  For more photos of her fabulous home, check out my sister's blog.  I can't wait to spend more time with my family during the Holidays!  I'm sooo looking forward to the end of the semester.  It's been tough, but rewarding all the same.  Now to convince my mind that vacation is over so that I can prepare for these finals.  Any motivational tips or encouragement you can provide will be much appreciated!  Back to the books...

Finally found a barber who shaves my head just the way I like it! He's a cutie too!!!

My sister Krystin is such a cutie patootie!
I am super excited that I finally got to take pics with my little sis!  We met in Cincinnati to spend Thanksgiving with the fabulous matriarch of our family, Aunt Lou.  We had such a great time chatting over Baileys and coffee (mostly Baileys), going thru Aunt Lou's room-sized closet, and visiting vintage shops!!!  Family time is the absolute best :).  What was the best part of your Thanksgiving?

The super fly Jazmine & Trina

Don't you love it when in the midst of mayhem something amazing happens???  Right when things started getting super intense with school, I got an invite to this amazing event hosted by Eboni of The Fashionista Next Door!  I had...you guessed it...an exam on the day of the event.  I came out of the exam not knowing how I did, but that didn't stop me from pulling a Clark Kent in the school bathroom.  I went in as a grad student and resurfaced as a fashionista...or so I think!?!  The girls and I met at Atlantic Station where we were whisked away by limo (Is that British, lol?) and taken to Bebe Lenox Square.  We had a ball!  Sometimes when things are stressful, you just gotta do something different...  I ended up pulling out a B on my exam, thank the Almighty!  A big thank you to Eboni for the invite.  Click here for more event photos.

Brit Girl Does: The Sneaker Ball

How amazing is this pile of donated shoes!?!

I fell in love with the ambiance at the Goat Farm Arts Center

The vintage farm equipment was creepy and cool

And, yes there were real live goats...
*This is what happens when my son is my photographer*

My Outfit:
Lace dress- Ross
Leggings- Old
Shoes- Zigi Soho Outfit Wedge Sneakers
Clutch- Steve Madden

Hiii guys!!!  I am so excited to post!  Things have been cray...tests, tests, and more tests!  Can you believe I took a 12 hour exam Friday!?! When I finished, my brain hurt.  This week I have a much needed break for Thanksgiving and I'm gonna spend some time updating le blog :).

I attended The Sneaker Ball a few weeks ago.  The event was part of a 30 day campaign to collect 11,000 pairs of shoes for those in need.  It was a joint effort between eVennts, a local event company, and Soles4Souls.  The young men that produced the event, Oluwatoyin Salami and Evan Eskridge are just 23 and 24 years old.  It's awesome to see young people involved in such a worthy cause!  I didn't stay long because I felt almost old enough to be a mom to the college kids in attendance.  I did however donate some shoes and do The Wobble ;).

Brit Girl Does: Loft Grand Reopening

Madison Shoop & I
Even though it was a mad house, she was sweet enough to take a pic and chat with me about my blog :)

Bloggers in attendance Eboni, Arkeedah, Lexi & Diamonde, photographer extraordinaire

Dress- UO, DIY grosgrain belt
Shoes- Charlotte Russe
Purse- Gifted
Necklace- H&M

Last week I attended the grand reopening of Loft Lenox Square.  The grand reopening featured discount shopping of 40% off...that's nothing to sneeze at, and a special gift with purchases of $100 or more.  What's better than discount shopping and gifts???  Being styled by the renowned Madison Shoop!!!  Madison was on hand to answer styling questions.  How often can you say you were styled by Marie Claire's merchandising editor :).  Shout out to The Fashionista Next Door for letting me know about this awesome event.

Lace Baby Doll & Vegan Leather Pants

Dress- Ross, belt added from another dress
Vegan Leather Pants- Esprit
Scalloped Booties- Seychelle's
Clutch- thrifted
Earrings- F21

Did you notice I'm not smiling?
My daughter wasn't in the greatest of moods when I dragged her out after bedtime to take pics so I tried to channel her emotions...

I broke down =D
Loving my curls in the part of my hair that was shaved. I keep thinking of cutting  it all to  this length...
This is the dress I wore in my very first post.  I haven't worn it since, but it resurfaced when I was looking for something pink to wear in support of breast cancer.  I wore it to a BFF event at Fab'rik.  See photos here.  With fall upon us, I decided to switch it up a bit and wear pants.  I love the mix of tough and sweet with the vegan leather pants and lace baby doll!  In fact, I wish I would've thought of it sooner!!! I love adding new life to old pieces.  What are some ways you spice up pieces you've had for a while?
