(Vegan) Leather & Lace

Dress- UO/ Vest- Esprit/ Boots- Nine West/ Clutch- Steve Madden/ Earrings- Bebe/ Bracelet- H&M

I had an absolutely amazing day yesterday!  We had 60+ degree weather in Atlanta and I spent the day hanging out with the kiddos :).  Thank goodness I had the foresight to throw on an outfit that I wore a while back but had not taken pictures in!  My entire weekend was low key and amazing at the same time.  I did my usual running around (blog event, family outing, and visiting friends) but I still made time for a little introspection.  That put A Lot in perspective!  There still aren't enough hours in the day, but I feel more equipped to handle raising 2 teenagers, grad school, and life as a whole.  Maybe there is something to this Lent thing...  Taking away the things that I usually squeeze in during my downtime (shopping, Starbucks, more shopping)  creates much needed mental space.  While I CANNOT wait to hit the stores seriously, I am learning things that may have taken years if I hadn't given myself this time.  Did you give anything up for lent?  If so, have you had any epiphanies???

I Promised I'd Put These Pants Away

Okay...I lied!  They fit like a glove and pretty much make any outfit...exhibit1, exhibit 2...  I think you get it :).  I looove these pants so when I saw Eboni wearing her vegan leather pants in today's Style Me Friday post, I had to pull mine out once again!  I bought this yellow coat a couple of years ago and I finally wore it this winter.  I love the details and the unexpected color definitely spruced up this rainy day.  We've been having a lot of those here in Atlanta, hence my ponytail.  I'm letting the shaved side grow back for the moment until I decide what I'm gonna do with it.  I hope it doesn't look to sketchy :/. I digress...  Head over to Eboni's blog to see how she recreated this look and link up!

Blazer- Ross/Shirt- Urban Outfitters/ Skirt- YSL/ Shoes- Guess/ Clutch- thrifted

Hola! I wore this outfit to the Grand Opening of Kushions Boutique.  While I'm not much for long skirts, I love the detail on this YSL beauty gifted from sister Krystin. I especially love the oversized pockets!  Since I wanted to play up the skirt, I kept the add-ons simple.  I love how it turned out!  See I can be grown up sometimes ;). I see this skirt being a part of my wardrobe for a looong time!  Thanks sis!!!  Hope you guys are having a great week!

Daytime Sparkle

Denim Jacket- Esprit ancient/ Shirt- Calvin Klein/ Shorts- Marshall's/ Shoes- Converse
Watch- DKNY/ Bracelet- F21/ Earrings- 1224 Boutique

Rushing home from school to take Style Me Friday pics is rapidly becoming one of my weekly traditions.  The challenge this week was to make sequins a daytime look.  Well considering the fact that I had to create an outfit around these shorts was rough!  Instead of heels, I decided to pair my sequined booty shorts with converse for a more casual look.  I could live in converse.  In fact, at one point, I pretty much did!  I love how Eboni's Style Me Friday segment challenges me to create outfits from pieces that I would've NEVER thought to wear together.  It also forces me to shop my closet which I appreciate since I gave up shopping for Lent again this year.  Guess that's becoming a tradition too :).  How did I do with this week's challenge?

Life Maintenance: Letting Go

Ok, it's confession time again.  I have a lot of stuff...when I say this I mean A Lot of stuff!  Anything I have one of, chances are I have a hundred more somewhere else.  Continuing in the vein of getting organized, I decided to do a massive Good Will donation last weekend.  While it was difficult to part with those jeans that I may be able to fit again one day and that skirt that may come back in style, in the end I felt great.  My load was lightened literally and figuratively and it's good to know that I donated to an organization that provides jobs to those in need.  Good Will also now has this really cool feature that allows you to register your donation online and keep up with all of your donations throughout the year for tax purposes.  What's even better is that when you register with the donation tracker, you are automatically entered to win a $2500 closet makeover...who couldn't use that!?!  Here's what I freed myself of...
And there's plenty more where this came from, but I'm moving forward.  Organization is a journey not a destination :).

This one was held at Lush Lenox Square and hosted by my blogger boo Oh Nikka.  Lush has amazing body care products and I thee best time being pampered.  The event featured sex bomb hand massages, a boobie bar, make up color readings, and...yes, it was as good as it sounds ;).  If you've ever been to Lush, you know it smells like heaven!  I picked up some really great items that I can't wait to try at home.  Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Brit Girl Does: Kushions Grand Opening

Can we get into Birdie's Jeffrey Campbell wedges?!

Showcasing some of Kushion's sexy yet tasteful items

Curvie Birdie hosted an event at Kushions Boutique just in time for V day.  Kushions features lingerie and other novelties and focuses on enhancing romantic relationships.  Although I'm single I enjoyed chatting it up with the girls, nibbling on delicious cakes, and drinking a glass of wine or 3!  It was also inspiring to hear the owner (pictured above) and his wife talk about stepping out on faith and pursuing their dream.  I'm all about that!  They offered such a great discount (30%) that I had to grab a couple of things for myself because...who knows...I just may end up with a Valentine!?!  Kushions is offering this discount for the remainder of the week if you mention discount code, Curvie Birdie.  They are located at 3166 Buford Highway Duluth, GA 30096 so if you're in the area definitely check them out.

Old faithful trench/ Dress Urban Outfitters Cope/ Tee Marshall's/ Bracelets Forever 21/ Guess Farleigh bootie

Hey guys! I'm smiling which means I'm finally starting to feel like myself again!!!  The forecast in Atlanta has been rain, rain, and more rain.  These twists have made my hair very low maintanence, but there's still the what to wear dilemma.  Dresses are my go to pretty much all year long so adding a trench and a cute pair of heels is a no brainer.  I also keep my rain boots and umbrella close by.  How do you dress for the rain?

Playing with Proportions

Denim shirt- harve benard/ Sweater- Tulle/ Jeans- Levi's/ Boot- Zigi NY/ Earrings- F21

Happy Friday Guys!!!  I'm linking up again with Eboni for Style Me Friday!  I love the way Eboni's segment makes me think outside the box.  I actually wore this outfit a couple of weeks ago sans sweater.  The sweater instantly adds polish and is perfect for this unpredictable weather we've been having in GA.  Oh and yes I'm sporting some new hair.  I was inspired by pRoy of Steel Feather Lace Elephant to try Marley twists.  It's A Lot of hair, but I'm kinda starting to love it.  Whatcha think???  Have an awesome weekend!

Hi guys!  I'm going to keep it short and sweet today.  I'm checking in from the school zone where I've had absolutely no life for the past couple weeks.  I seriously need a maid, a chef, a driver, a personal assistant, and a life coach!  If you know anyone who's willing to do these things and sacrifice getting paid for the short term, please let me know...  I threw this outfit on to grab a bite with the girls because I couldn't let this amazing hair day go to waste.  Am I the only one who feels the urgent need to get out the house on good hair days!?!
